The Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) is celebrating a major milestone — 50 years of preserving, promoting, and developing the Chinatown-International District (CID) as a thriving and inclusive neighborhood.
Under the theme "Beyond 50 Years: A CID for All Generations," this anniversary year is packed with opportunities to honor the past and look toward the future, including a three-part community tour series where each is focused on a different era in the neighborhood’s history.
Whether you’re a longtime resident or a curious visitor, these tours are a great way to connect with the CID’s rich cultural heritage and see firsthand the impact of SCIDpda’s work in affordable housing, small business support, and community preservation.
The tours are free, but you are required to register. Links for each tour can be found below.

Visit the Wing Luke Museum, which offers powerful exhibits and tours exploring Asian American history and culture.
Browse local shops for books, gifts, and imports — or stock up on ingredients at Uwajimaya. Check out LifeSTyle's list of Asian food marts that won't leave you hungry for more.
Catch a community event, street festival, or summer market — there’s often something happening just around the corner.
