Additional ways to celebrate across the Sound during World Cup

Publish Date

The World Cup is coming this summer, and Sound Transit is ready to get you where you want to go to enjoy the games.

Across the Puget Sound, many cities, towns, and counties are planning celebrations large and small. These free, family-friendly events are a great way for those not attending the matches to take part in the world’s most watched event.

Experience the excitement near Seattle Stadium at Fan Celebrations

In Seattle, the Local Organizing Committee (SeattleFWC26) has partnered with several different groups to stage Fan Celebrations throughout the city. Seattle Center, Pacific Place, Victory Hall, Waterfront Park, and Pier 62 will all host events for fans to watch games and other activities. Many sites are along the Unity Loop—and you can use transit to access most of them.

Regional game-day energy at Fan Zones

The Puget Sound will feature Fan Zones for those who want to celebrate away from Seattle Stadium, including those hosted by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Everett, and Bremerton.

Hosted by the Puyallup Tribe (Tacoma)

The Puyallup Tribe of Indians is an official partner of the World Cup and will host several events in and around Tacoma. The Puyallup Tribe will hold a World Cup Kick-Off Celebration on June 12, a World Cup pow-wow June 19-21, and a World Cup Stick Games Tournament June 26-28.

To get to these events using Sound Transit services, you can take Sounder South, the T Line, or ST Express (574, 586, 590,594, 595) buses to the Tacoma Dome station. From there, you can catch Pierce Transit’s route 41 or a circulator shuttle Pierce Transit will operate to get to Puyallup Tribe events.

Boxcar Park in Everett

In Everett, the Fan Zone is being held in Boxcar Park, located in the Port of Everett. To get there with Sound Transit, you can take Sounder north or ST Express buses (510, 512, 532) to Everett Station and then catch Everett Transit route 6 or a circulator bus that Everett Transit will operate.

Quincy Square in Bremerton

Quincy Square will host the Fan Zone in Bremerton. A ferry ride away, this location provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy the Sound during a Seattle summer.

You can reach the Seattle Ferry Terminal on Sound Transit in several ways. Taking the 1 Line or 2 Line? Get off at Pioneer Square and walk down Yesler Way to reach the ferry terminal. Riding Sounder? Take the N Line or S Line to King Street Station, and the water is a short walk. Using ST Express? Many buses go to downtown Seattle. You’ll just need to walk down Second or Fourth Avenue to Yesler Way.

No matter where you plan to celebrate this summer, you can get there using Sound Transit and our regional transit partners.
