Good news for people who want to combine bikes and transit but don’t want to bring their bikes on board busy trains.
Sound Transit is continuing to install new secure on-demand bike lockers, at existing and new stations.
Under the new program, riders can get a smart card to load money onto and then use the cards to access the new lockers.
These secure, stainless steel lockers can be used when available and when needed by any transit passenger using a BikeLink card, or the BikeLink app.
As of May 2022, 248 of these new BikeLink lockers are available for use at 16 Sound Transit stations and selected other transit centers and park and rides operated by King County Metro and Community Transit.

Over the next few years, Sound Transit will replace existing key accessible lockers that have been available for lease by individual users at 13 more existing stations with these new BikeLink secure bike lockers that are accessible to all Sound Transit passengers when needed.
New BikeLink lockers are also being installed as the primary secure bike parking option for transit passengers on the opening day of service at all new stations on the East Link, Federal Way Link and Lynnwood Link extensions.
How on-demand lockers work
Under the new program, riders can subscribe to the on-demand system through BikeLink and use the new lockers at any location, including at the King County Metro locations which already have these lockers.
The on-demand lockers at Sound Transit stations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
They’re accessible 24 hours a day, and you can rent a locker for up to 10 days.
If your meter expires, extra time costs 12 cents per hour.
Sound Transit considers bikes left in BikeLink lockers longer than 12 days as abandoned, and they will be impounded.
The lockers will be similar to what’s already available from King County Metro Transit and transit centers in the Bay area, Los Angeles and Washington D.C.
