Sound Transit to host public meeting about design and construction of new light rail Operations and Maintenance Facility in Bellevue
Public invited to meet Sound Transit’s contractor and learn about design and construction activities for the facility that will maintain, store and deploy light rail vehicles for system expansion

Sound Transit will hold an open house this week in Bellevue about the Operations and Maintenance Facility: East (OMF East) that will open in 2020 to service and house light rail vehicles for Link extensions to Northgate, Lynnwood, Federal Way and Redmond.

  • Thursday, May 17, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Global Innovation Exchange, 12280 NE District Way, Bellevue. Presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.

Members of the public are invited to meet representatives from Hensel Phelps and Sound Transit to discuss design progress for the new operations and maintenance facility; early concepts of potential transit-oriented development opportunities; construction schedule; and how to stay informed and involved during construction.

The OMF East is being implemented as a design-build project, for which notice to proceed was issued in June 2017. Sound Transit recently broke ground on the facility located on 120th Ave. NE in Bellevue’s Bel-red corridor near the developing Spring District, and has begun receiving building permits while progressing through final design.
