A look ahead

Sound Transit's contractor expects regular weekend closures to continue into November. Upcoming closures during the weekends of Sept. 16-17, 23-24 and Sept. 30-Oct. 1 are expected to be similar to this coming weekend's closure.

Winters House protection and monitoring

This work was originally scheduled for early August, but it was delayed. As early as next week, crews will begin implementing a protection plan for the Winters House. The Winters House will be surrounded on three sides with scaffolding which will then be wrapped with white shrink wrap, providing a protective barrier on the exterior of the house. Fans, de-humidifiers and temporary heating will be installed to maintain airflow and help maintain dry conditions. Vegetation adjacent to the Winters House will be removed so crews can install the scaffolding that will support the exterior protection wrap.

Crews will install monitoring equipment and monitor for settlement, vibration and cracking. Regular monitoring of Winters House will continue throughout East Link construction.
