Shared scooters and bikes

Private companies such as Lime and Bird offer shared scooters and bicycles for short-term rental use within select cities that Sound Transit serves. Where available, you can access shared bikes and scooters through mobile apps.

Riders should park in designated areas that are marked and signed at stations, as well as highlighted within the mobile apps.

General rules for use of shared bikes and scooters

Shared scooters and bikes and similar devices are not allowed in fare paid zones, on station platforms, or along/within rail alignments.

  • Shared scooters and bikes are prohibited onboard any Sound Transit train or bus.
  • Sound Transit is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged to shared bikes or scooters.
  • Sound Transit is not responsible for injuries or damage to personal property associated with the presence of shared bikes or scooters at Sound Transit facilities or onboard vehicles.
  • People using shared bikes or scooters are responsible for properly parking them. Where designated parking exists, riders should park their devices within the boundaries of those locations.   • Shared bikes and scooters may be parked at bicycle racks when space is available. Personal bicycles and micromobility devices have priority over shared micromobility devices.
  • Disabled, broken, or otherwise inoperable shared micromobility devices are not permitted at Sound Transit facilities.
