The Ballard Link Extension (BLE) project is scheduled to begin design after the Federal Record of Decision. At this time, we are working with our federal partners to understand the timeline of our ongoing environmental review phase for the BLE. The BLE project timeline will be updated when additional information is available.

BLE is scheduled to begin construction and testing in 2032.See below for more information. Note that construction for the project between Seattle Center and Ballard stations will begin as funding is available.

*The full Ballard Link Extension from Chinatown-International District to Market Street in Ballard could open by 2042, if Sound Transit can further reduce project costs, increase financial capacity, and secure the remaining funding need to construct the entire project.
