Ongoing: Spring 2024 disruption

This spring, Sound Transit will be performing work that will affect 1 Line service. The changes will vary between May 12 and June 25, with the more impactful work happening June 1-2 and June 21-23. You can find a graphic of these disruptions here.

Rail replacement

Impacted stations: Systemwide.

Federal Way Link Extension tie-in work

Impacted stations: SeaTac/Airport, Angle Lake.

5/12/246/1/24Trains share the Northgate-destined (northbound) tracks. A train will run between SeaTac/Airport and Angle Lake stations, operating every 16-20 minutes. All passengers who need to travel through SeaTac Station must transfer to another train.
6/1/20246/2/2024The 1 Line will be closed between SeaTac/Airport and Angle Lake stations all day on June 1 and will open after 10 a.m. on June 2. All passengers must transfer to King County Metro's A Line to travel between these stations during this time. Transfers between the two modes are free during the full closure.
6/2/246/21/24Trains will share the Angle Lake-destined (southbound) platform between SeaTac/Airport and Angle Lake stations. A train will run between SeaTac/Airport and Angle Lake stations, operating every 16-20 minutes. All passengers who need to travel through SeaTac Station must transfer to another train.
6/22/246/22/24The 1 Line will be closed between SeaTac/Airport and Angle Lake stations, all day on June 22. All passengers must transfer to King County Metro's A Line to travel between these stations during this time. Transfers between the two modes are free during the full closure.

 

Columbia City Station retiling

Impacted stations: Stadium, SODO, Beacon Hill, Mount Baker, Columbia City, Othello, Rainier Beach, Tukwila Int'l Blvd, SeaTac/Airport, Angle Lake.

6/1/246/2/24Trains will every 20 minutes between Stadium and SeaTac/Airport stations to accommodate construction at Columbia City Station. Passengers on trains that end at Stadium Station will need to board the next train destined for SeaTac/Airport or Angle Lake to complete their journey. 
6/1/246/2/24One platform at a time will be closed at Columbia City Station for platform repair work. The Northgate-destined (northbound) platform will be closed at Columbia City Station all day on June 1, so passengers must board and deboard all trains on the Angle Lake-destined (southbound) platform. The Angle Lake-destined (southbound) platform will be closed on June 2, so passengers must board and deboard all trains on the Northgate-destined (northbound) platform.

 

East Link tie-in work

Impacted stations: Capitol Hill, Westlake, University Street, Pioneer Square, Int’l District/Chinatown, Stadium, SODO.

6/21/246/23/24Downtown Seattle stations will be closed from 10 p.m. on June 21 through the end of service on June 23. Link bus shuttles will run between Capitol Hill–SODO about every 10-15 minutes. On June 21 and 22, trains will run about every 15 minutes between Northgate-Capitol Hill and SODO-SeaTac/Airport stations. On June 23, trains will run between Northgate-Capitol Hill and SODO-Angle Lake stations about every 15 minutes.
