T Line closure due to Hilltop Tacoma Link Ext. track work

Map image for T-Line closure and shuttle information

Starting as early as Aug. 1, T-Line service will be suspended for 45 days due to construction work needed to connect the Hilltop Tacoma Link Ext. tracks to the existing T-Line system. We will be running a free T Line shuttle, using the same schedule as the train, during the closure. Riders can access the shuttle via bus stops next to the T Line.

In addition to the construction, Theater District Station will be closed. Once the T Line begins operations after the closure, service will end at Commerce Street Station. All riders will need to get off the train at the end of the alignment. Please remember to stay alert and to use the crosswalk when crossing the tracks.

Adjusting service

Sound Transit is tracking ridership and is adjusting bus and train service in order to meet demand and safety. See our Service changes page for the latest changes.

1 Line maintenance

As we prepare for 33 miles of new light rail extensions, critical maintenance and system upgrades will cause some 1 Line disruptions, including longer waits for trains and some bus shuttles temporarily replacing train service.

See our post on The Platform for details about the travel impacts.

Reduced fares

Reduced fares are available for youth, seniors and low-income riders.

With the ORCA LIFT card, income qualified adult riders can save money on ST Express buses, Sounder and Link light rail trains. To see if you qualify, call Public Health 800‐756‐5437.
