Link Shuttle Buses are replacing the 1 Line at Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel stations on multiple weekends during January and February.

In effect: Jan. 10 - March 1

Routes: 1 Line

For several weekends in January and February, 1 Line service will be interrupted at some of the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel stations to allow for the completion of tie-in work that will connect the 1 Line and 2 Lines as well as work to repair overhead power at the UW Station. Link Shuttle Buses will provide service between stations during these service interruptions.

Jan. 10-12: Complete

Jan. 17-19: Complete

Feb. 1-2: Shuttle buses will replace 1 Line service between U District and Capitol Hill stations, running every 10-15 minutes. Trains will operate between Lynnwood–U District every 12 minutes and Capitol Hill–Angle Lake every 15 minutes.

Feb. 14-16: Beginning 10 p.m. on Feb. 14, shuttle buses will replace 1 Line service between Capitol Hill and SODO stations, running every 10-15 minutes. Trains will operate between Lynnwood–Capitol Hill and SODO–Angle Lake every 15 minutes. Trains will share one track at Shoreline South/148th Station.

From January 4th through February 27th construction activity is occurring near the Shoreline South Station nightly from 5:30 p.m. until the end of service causing delays in train arrival times.

In effect: Jan. 4 - Feb. 28

Routes: 1 Line

Construction work is occurring at the NE 130th St Infill Station requiring trains to operate on a single track through Shoreline South 148th station for the duration of construction. This will occur every evening from 5:30 p.m. until the end of light rail service Monday through Friday, as well as all day on Saturday and Sunday. During weekend work, trains will arrive about every 12 to 15 minutes as opposed to every 10.

Please pay attention to station announcements and signage at Shoreline South 148th Station to determine where to board trains.

During some weekend work in January and February trains will be further delayed due to other construction projects involving the closure of the Downtown Tunnel. Please visit SoundTransit.org/Disruptions for more information.

Update: Shoreline North/185th Station will have scheduled maintenance beginning Monday, Dec 9 through early January. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, detours and traffic control will be available for passenger access.

In effect: Dec. 9, 7:00 a.m.

Routes: 1 Line

The scheduled maintenance is to reconstruct the steps between the southeast corner at the Shoreline North/185th Station garage and passenger drop-off/pick-up area along 8th Ave NE. After the work’s completion in early January, the public can access these stairs.

Phase 1: Complete

Phase 2: December 12 until early January
Construction of forms and concrete pour. Pathways between the station, bus bays, paratransit bay, and garage will remain open. During the concrete pour, the passenger drop off area will be closed to allow for equipment to be used during the concrete work.

Ticket machines

Ticket machines are available in multiple locations:

On the plaza level, at the station's north and south ends, before heading to the platform.
On the platform level, at the north and south ends of the station, by the east entry to the platform.

Restrooms

The public restrooms are on the north end of the station, at the corner of the ancillary building, under the garage pedestrian bridge.

Accessibility

Both below grade and street level station with side platforms. Along NE 185th St. (S. end/Exit B), platform is below grade. Access from 8th Ave NE (N. end/Exit A) is street level.
South end station access (B exits):
- From NE 185th St., and from the bus bays/paratransit on top of garage, there are elevators or stairs to each platform. Elevators to northbound trains open inside garage on level 1 adjacent to plaza. Exit B2 connects to southbound platform.
North end station access (A exits):
- From bus bays on top of garage go north to pedestrian skybridge (Exit A2); elevators and stairs to both platforms.
- From 8th Ave NE follow sidewalk north and west to access northbound platform (Exit A1).
Accessible parking located on garage level 1, near elevators (Exit B1) and adjoins northbound platform.
Bus bays on top level of the garage; access to elevators/ped bridge options.
Paratransit bay is located on top level of garage (closest to Exit B).
Traffic signal crossing at NE 185th St. & 5th Ave. NE (to avoid roundabout at 8th Ave. NE). There is an uphill grade from 8th Ave to 5th Ave.
