May is Bike Month, and it's almost here!

Join us to celebrate bicycling as a sustainable and healthy way to get to where you live, work and play.

A great day to try cycling to work - or anywhere! - is Bike Everywhere Day on May 20.

You can also incorporate biking with your regular commute. It's easy to take your bike on transit, and all Sound Transit facilities have bicycle parking.

We're kicking off Bike Month with a trail reopening - one of many future trail to rail connections being built in our region.

A cyclist rides on the Interurban Trail on a sunny day, with green trees in the background.
The Interurban Trail generally follows the route once used by the Interurban Trolley that ran from downtown Seattle to Everett.

After being closed for nearly 10 months, the portion of the Interurban Trail between 52nd Ave. W and 44th Ave. W near the Lynnwood Transit Center will reopen on Sunday, May 1.

The section of the trail was closed to allow construction crews to work on the future Lynnwood City Center light rail station, as well as the new parking garage.

Join us on the Interurban Trail from 9 a.m. to noon on May 1 for coffee and answers to questions about the Lynnwood Link Extension.

Pay attention to detour signage in the area as construction continues.

The Scriber Creek Trail connecting Scriber Creek Park to the Interurban Trail remains closed, and is anticipated to open in fall 2022.

Happy riding; we’ll see you on the trails and trains in May!
