S Line - Seattle – Lakewood/Tacoma

On June 15, S Line train #1518 (10:11 AM Lakewood Station to King Street Station) will be canceled to support event train #1600 for the FIFA World Cup match. S Line shuttle buses will be made available.
In effect: June 15, 10:11 a.m. - 12:26 p.m.
Routes: S Line
- S Line Shuttle Route 1: Departs Lakewood at 10:11 a.m., then serves South Tacoma and Tacoma Dome before continuing to Seattle.
- S Line Shuttle Route 2: Departs Puyallup at 10:38 a.m., then serves Sumner and Auburn before continuing to Seattle.
- S Line Shuttle Route 3: Departs Kent at 11 a.m., then serves Tukwila Station before continuing to Seattle.
Affected direction: to Seattle
Sound Transit is testing real-time Sounder arrival information on overhead signs.

Routes: N Line & S Line
Starting Monday, March 16, Sound Transit will close Kent Station’s northwest Sounder surface parking lot.
In effect: March 16, 2026 - Jan. 1, 2027

Sounder will operate special event service for the FIFA World Cup match between Belgium and Egypt on Monday, June 15.
In effect: June 15, 9:15 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Routes: N Line & S Line
N Line Service
A special event train will operate from Everett to Seattle:
Train 1801
- Departs Everett: 9:45 a.m.
- Arrives Seattle King Street Station: 10:44 a.m.
- Makes all regular N Line stops
A special post-match train will also operate:
Train 1800
- Departs Seattle King Street Station approximately 60 minutes after the conclusion of the match (estimated departure around 3 p.m.)
- Makes all regular N Line stops.
Please note:
- Additional schedule adjustments may be necessary depending on equipment availability. Any changes to regular N Line service will be communicated through Rider Alerts, station announcements, and onboard announcements when they are confirmed.
- Following the match, Sound Transit will issue an additional Rider Alert with the official departure time for post-match service.
S Line Service
A special event train will operate from Lakewood to Seattle:
Train 1600
- Departs Lakewood: 9:26 a.m.
- Arrives Seattle King Street Station: 10:42 a.m.
- Makes all regular S Line stops
Please Note:
- Regular Train 1518 (10:11 a.m. departure from Lakewood) will be canceled. Bus service will be available for passengers who arrive expecting to board Train 1518.
- Following the match, S Line passengers will use regularly scheduled afternoon Sounder service. No special post-match S Line train will operate.

Platform assignments
While S Line trains do not have assigned platforms, they generally use the same platforms each day. Below is a summary of the typical platform usage:
- AM service:
- Northbound: Trains typically arrive on Track 2 (East platform).
- Southbound: Trains typically arrive on Track 1 (West platform).
- PM service:
- Southbound: Trains typically arrive on Track 2 (East platform).
- Northbound: Trains typically arrive on Track 1 (West platform).
Fares
- Adult (age 19-64)
One-way fares range between $3.25 and $5.75 depending on how far you travel. Visit our Fares page to see fares by distance. - Low-income adult (ORCA LIFT)
One-way fares are $1.00 regardless of distance traveled. - Senior/disabled (age 65+ or qualifying disability)

Day passes
Day passes (good for round-trip or multi-trip rides) are also available from ticket machines. They are twice the one-way fare and are valid for travel only on the date purchased, between the stations printed on the ticket.

How to pay
Pay before you board the train with the following options:
- ORCA card - Tap your card on the card reader before you enter the Fare Paid Zone.
- Tap-to-pay - Tap your credit/debit card on the reader before you enter the Fare Paid Zone.
- Ticket purchased with cash or credit card - Ticket machines are available at all Sounder stations.
- Transit GO Ticket app - Tickets may be purchased with credit card in the app. Activate your purchased ticket prior to boarding. Show your activated ticket to the fare enforcement officer onboard if requested.

Lost and found
Sound Transit will hold lost and found items for 10 business days in Sound Transit's Security Office at Union Station.
You may find out if the Security Office has your item by:

- Visiting the Security Office in Union Station, 401 S. Jackson St., Seattle.; weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
