  • Voter approval (2008)

    • Alternative Developing and Screening (2017)
      • Technical Advisory Committee composed of City of Kent and Sound Transit staff meets to establish goals and evaluation criteria for the project and identify potential improvements. Stakeholder workshops and open houses provide for public input.
      • Sound Transit evaluates improvement alternatives based on the goals and criteria and gathers community feedback on the alternatives.
      • Sound Transit Board reviews findings and stakeholder input and identifies preferred access improvements for the station. See information on the Preferred Alternative here.
    • Environmental Review, preliminary design and conceptual engineering (2018 - 2019)
    • Sound Transit Board selects projects to be built.
    • Design advances with public input.
    • Sound Transit obtains the necessary permits and property
    • Garage and other improvements are built.
    • Sound Transit completes identified environmental mitigations.
    • Community stays updated on construction progress and opening plans.
  • Open for service (2023)
